Bekah Leigh is an ordinary teenager who enjoys talking on the phone, hanging out with friends, jumping on her trampoline, taking her dog, Buddy for walks, and participating on a competition cheer squad. And she is a young lady with an extraordinary passion for singing and sharing the blessings in her life. She has been singing since before she could talk. Bekah has sung in choirs since kindergarten, both in school and church. Bekah lives in mid-Tennessee, and is a high school sophomore. She loves to sing country, Christian country and contemporary Christian songs, but also enjoys other genres.
Bekah was born in Louisville, Kentucky, while her father was serving in the US Army, stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Bekah has a sister who is 17 years older than she is, and two brothers, who are 14 and eleven years older than her. When she was 15 months old, her family moved to Michigan after her father retired from the Army, and five years later Bekah and her parents moved to the sunny South Carolina coast. Bekah and her family moved to mid-Tennessee in July 2007.
Bekah Leigh’s first experience on stage was at the age of four, when she was selected for a speaking part in a pre-school Christmas pageant. In a strong, confident voice, she recited Luke 2: 8-14, the story of the angels’ appearance to the shepherds, announcing the birth of Jesus. It was then she discovered that she enjoyed being in the spotlight at center-stage, sharing the news of God’s love. Bekah Leigh started her solo career quite by accident, in 2004. Her parents took her to Orlando for a talent search convention, planning to get into modeling. She had an opportunity to participate in a singing contest at the convention, and was heard by Gene Higgins from the Christian Country Music Association. He suggested that she come to Nashville to record, and her debut single "Frontline Christmas Wish" was recorded and released to radio a few months later. Bekah's song was played across the country at radio stations in December 2004 and even made it to Armed Forces Radio in Iraq and Germany. Bekah has a very patriotic heart and felt this song was a way for her to let the men and women serving our country know that she cares and supports them. “Frontline Christmas Wish” was the third musical tributes posted on
www.americasupportsyou.com, and is still there.
Bekah was a member of the Lowcountry Children's Choir during the 5th grade, and she sang with the United Methodist South Carolina Conference Youth Choir during the 8th grade. Bekah has performed at the 2006 Beaufort Water Festival Talent Show in Beaufort, South Carolina. She has performed at the 2006 Yemassee Shrimp Festival talent show and as part of their live entertainment. Bekah has performed at the 2006 CCMA convention in Nashville, Tennessee. On a regular basis, she performs at Epworth Children's Home in Columbia, South Carolina, and for the elderly residents of two local assisted living facilities in her hometown. She will be performing at the AGAPE Fest in Hughes Springs, Texas in May 2007, and in Nashville, Tennessee at the 2007 CCMA Convention in November 2007.
Bekah loves singing. Whether it’s in the car traveling down the road to songs on the radio, at her weekly voice lessons, when she is hanging out with friends listening to the latest releases, or in front of an audience for a performance, Bekah sings not just with her voice, but with her heart and soul. And she sincerely hopes you enjoy hearing her music as much as she enjoys singing it for you.
Bekah has been blessed with some wonderful songs from very talented writers. She is currently working on her first full CD and will release a single soon from that project.
She is an independent recording artist and a member of the Christian Country Music Association.
